Information for Parents

Founded in 1908, Camp Chief Ouray is known as one of the nation’s best summer camps.

Campers learn, work and play together, creating a collaborative and creative experience. By practicing the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith, campers raise their self-esteem and learn to function better in a team environment. We offer unsurpassed, rewarding camping experiences for kids ages 7 to 17. The campers experience curiosity, individuality and excitement. Our counselors and programs provide stepping-stones to use these qualities to help campers reach their goals.

We offer children adventures and challenges along with opportunities for developing leadership, human relations and Christian values. Campers stay in cabins with children of the same gender and age. The camp strives to maintain a 1:5 counselor to camper ratio. Campers make life-long friends as they enjoy the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an altitude of more than 8,500 feet. *Your child's safety is a priority to us here at CCO. All staff members go through an extensive interview process which includes background checks. In addition we spend several weeks training our staff and also ask them to sign a Code of Conduct prior to their employment.
