Wish List

The Camp Chief Ouray Wish List is a great way to give back to CCO through donations and in-kind gifts.  Below are items that Camp Chief Ouray is hoping for in 2012.  If you would like to give, please contact the CCO office.

Couch (2): to create a safe haven for staff so they can reenergize and be able to be great camp counselors.

Backcountry gear:  Campers sometimes do not have the necessary gear to go on trips.  Having extra gear at camp enables campers to be prepared and have a life-changing experience in the backcountry (Backcountry gear includes: boots, tents, packs, sleeping bags, stoves, etc.)

Day pack/ school back packs: The day pack is essential to have at CCO.  Some kids come to camp and do not have a backpack, or their bags break.  Having extras enables camp to provide them with a pack to care the essentials around at camp, which helps the camper to have a better experience.

Rain Jackets:  It does rain at camp occasionally and being dry is important to making a kid’s experience! Help us make that happen.

Western Saddles (10):  CCO runs about 50 kids a week through horseback riding lessons and about 70 kids a week through trail rides.  We have 45 horses and are in need for some new saddles.

Sound System:  A sound system would be used in the dining hall, for evening activities dances, and special events.  This sound system would help create a fun and exciting atmosphere and make quality programming even more possible.

Laptop:  A Laptop would create an easier check in and checkout process.

Office Chairs (3):  We are in need of office chairs for the camp office.  The chairs will provide space for effective meetings, as well as create a more welcoming environment.
