Youth Leadership Board

Camp is now advised by kids through the Youth Leadership Board. Youth Leadership Board (YLB) is a great way to stay connected to camp and be a part of camp’s future. The Board is comprised of 10 youth ages 13-17. They will meet throughout the year in person and through conference calls to help make decisions about programs, events, help recruit and help fundraise for the scholarship campaign. It is a wonderful way to help make an impact at Camp Chief Ouray.  If you need more information, or have questions, please do not hesitate to call.  Apply by filling out the application.

Application Timeline

  • Applications posted: November 23rd, 2011 
  • Applications due: December 31st 
  • Interviews: Jan1- Jan 20th 
  • Selections made: Jan 21- 31 
  • Acceptance letters sent: Feb 1st

 

Requirements and Expectations

  • Attend at least 1 camp program in the summer of 2012* 
  • Volunteer 10 hours in your local community between June and August. 
  • Volunteer at one off season CCO program 
  • Participate in 4 out of 5 conference calls* 
  • Raise $114 for camp 
    • Youth Leadership Board will raise enough money for 2 kids to go to camp. 

*extenuating circumstances considered.

  • November 7th: Conference Call 
  • December TBD: YLB Event
